Born in 1984 in Ylistaro, Finland.
Lives and works in Helsinki, Finland.
Jaana Maijala is an artist dealing with the combination of photography and drawing, and an occasional passion for performance art. She has studied classical arts and holds a BA degree in photography. Her artistic ambitions concern mass, gravity, attraction, encounters and the Romantic era poetry. She draws like god. At the moment, Maijala is continuing her photography studies in the MA program of the Aalto University School of Arts, Design and Architecture. She is also a member of the renowned group of photographers, The Helsinki School and has taken part to various group exhibitions in Europe and the US. Her first solo show is held in July 2012 in France as a part of the Rencontres d’Arles.
