In 2009, he received an MFA from Columbia University. Some of his recent solo shows were exhibited in the Braverman Gallery, Tel Aviv (2010); the Haifa Museum for Contemporary Art (2009); Ferenbalm-Gurbrü Station Gallery, Karlsruhe (2008) and The Center for Contemporary Art, Tel Aviv (2006). Gilad’s recent solo shows were exhibited in La Tolerie Center for Contemporary Art, Clermont Ferrand, France (2009); the Herzelia Biennial, Israel (2009); Michael Janssen Gallery, Berlin (2009); Art in General, New York (2009); Athens Biennial , Greece (2009); Israel Museum, Jerusalem (2008); Kulturhuset Stokholm, Sweden (2008); Museum Beelden Aan Zee, Den Haag, (2008); Stockholmsmässan, Sweden (2008); Petach-Tikva Museum for Contemporary Art, Israel (2007). Herzliya Museum of Contemporary Art (2005).

He received the following awards: the Fund for Video-Art and Experimental Cinema (2008); the Isracard prize for Israeli Artist of the Tel Aviv Museum (2007); the Israeli Ministry of Culture “Young Artist” Prize (2006) and the Givon Prize of the Tel Aviv Museum (2005).

Gilad Ratman presented his work at the Rencontres d’Arles in 2010, nominated by Liam Gillick for the Discovery Award: Gilad Ratman at the Atelier de Mécanique.
